Marieke Koekkoek

Marieke Koekkoek is a research fellow at the interdisciplinary research center the Leuven Centre for Global Governance Studies, KU Leuven. She holds law degrees from Utrecht University (LL.B), the University of Amsterdam (LL.M in international trade and investment law) and the International Economic Law and Policy program, IELPO, in Barcelona (LL.M). Marieke has written on the topic of extraterritoriality and unilateral trade measures and the influence of public international law principles in trade disputes. In her PhD, she focusses on extraterritoriality and the use of international trade measures promoting environmental objectives.
