About Michael De Boeck

Dr. Michael De Boeck is an academic doctor-assistant at the dept. of European Legal Studies of the College of Europe in Bruges. He holds a PhD from Ghent and Luxembourg university (2020) and LLM’s from Ghent (magna cum laude, 2013) and Vanderbilt university (with honors, 2014). He is also a licenced attorney at the Bar of Ghent and New York, and is ‘of counsel’ to Everest attorneys. He specializes in international litigation and investment protection, and focusses in his research in particular on the interplay between international investment protection instruments and the EU legal order, and the development of the trade and investment policy of the EU.
