Niall Coghlan is a Ph.D. Researcher at the European University Institute. His research concerns the prohibitions on eugenics, cloning and commercialisation of the body in EU fundamental rights and biolaw. He previously spent four years practising as a barrister, first at a leading civil and public law chambers and subsequently in Cabinet Office Legal Advisers. He holds an MA in History from the University of Cambridge and has undertaken traineeships at the European Court of Justice, European Commission and European and Inter-American Courts of Human Rights.
