Niall Coghlan is a Ph.D. Researcher at the European University Institute. His research concerns the prohibitions on eugenics and reproductive cloning in EU fundamental rights and biolaw. He previously spent four years practising as a barrister in England, first at a leading civil and public law chambers and subsequently in Cabinet Office Legal Advisers. He holds a BA in History from the University of Cambridge and has undertaken traineeships at the European Court of Justice, European Commission and European and Inter-American Courts of Human Rights.
